Looked like a great time. congrads to the winners.

I can shed some light on the hole permit thing of 2 years ago. I believe a permit was applied for but was denied on the 11 hour because of insurance reasons.

I believe the blm needed a $1,000,000 insurance policy to cover the event, I was asked and than offered to be one of the sponsors of the event the following year and then it could be permitted by running on my insurance.

After more research, it was a risk I was unwilling to take. Sorry.

oh yah, I forgot about the insurance thing. that could have been taken care of with a little more $bling $bling because my construction company insurance broker had that covered. It would have been cheaper and easier to piggy back though. It is just another reason why this event will remain free and "unofficial". It is hard to get things done here in Kalifornia. Should look into an indian reservation for holding drag races. Much easier.

I'm sure it was a great event. Like years past, and like DS Days, its always good to get with the ones you interact with here on the forum. I like the event down there on MLK weekend. A previous post talked about suggesting that it could be even better by adding a flat drag behind the store with the tree. I think that would be a very good idea indeed.

I have a question for 14mins, if craycraft builds so many Raptors how come none of them stand out as very fast? I raced Jarheads
727 on Saturday with my little ole air-cooled 400ex and was beating him, that and I didn't see any of the craycraft bikes in the finals. Just curious not trying to start a war.

Jarhead has a 686. I was not there so i do not know either. Maybe you should have driven that one also spedmn. You are the man from all the post as the jockey that gets the job done. Jarhead does not have the big dog craycraft. I as well as others hated to see rapfams pump gas 727 go down before the event. Post all year have shown he can run with any of them out there. He stepped it up before FSW's and dropped a few more speed items into his CR build. Unforuanatly he either dropped a small bolt into the motor or one bolt backed out of the one-way while he was stepping it up for FSW's and had only made a few passes at the hill on friday getting ready for the event. One little bolt ruined his weekend. He even had a jockey ready if the need presented itself.

As far as other Craycrafts showing up? I have no idea why they did not make the trip. Probably from the fiasco of previous years possibly.

IT DOES sound like FSW's was MUCH IMPROVED this year from the previos 3. Grooming the track and guarenteing that in the future the track will be groomed should make more of the drag only crowd more reseptive to making the trip. Mabe FSW5 will draw 100's more to actually race next year.

AZsand- Not everyone is crazy enough to blast full throttle up olds hill like you and some others thru the obsticale course of years past. Keep the track smooth and you will end up with 2 many guys wanting to compete.

If you want to put on a event like this you should step up and do it right. ( permits, insurance etc) And run it for Free. I am fully aware of what kind of money it takes to do these kinds of things after doing 4 or 5 myself. My insurance is not to bad as long as everything is free. Tell the insurance company that you are going to charge and the price skyrockets faster that spedmn on a rocket. The misconceptions and blatant lies from FSW2 will take a while to overcome. It is a fine line to walk. A guy traveling 1000 to 2000 miles and taking a week off to attend this event or others like this are not thrilled that one person is profiting from this, or trying to. As a atv community it is suppose to be for friendships and fun, and not for profit.
