Default HEAD LIGHT BULB TYPES

I was looking to increase the wattage of my head light and was thinking of using
a Fahrenheit Plasma bulb. Does anyone use Xenon or Plasma bulbs and if so what is the part number?
and what wattage do you use?

From your pictures you have a 2004 DS, this limits your light options. On the older style light they used a very common H4 bulb that could be found in many different watts, colors, gasses, etc. Your 2004 and up uses a H6 aka H6M bulb. I have only found them in 35/35w configurations. Piaa makes some that claim they put out more light, not cheap though. I have also found the H6M in xenon at Ricky stator for fairly cheap.

You seem to be correct. The PIAA bulb is a 35/35 and thay claim it puts out the same lum as a 55/55w for around $29.00.
Can't for the life of me figure out why Bombardier would swith from the H4 with a wide range of bulbs to a H6 which is limited to 35w.....

Who knows why BRP picked the H6M. Yamaha has been using the H6 bulb in a lot of there quads, banshee, yfz, and rhino, probably more that I don't know about.

Ricky Stator has the 45/45w version as well for the same price, like $9 I think. I still have yet to order my 2004 headlight conversion parts. I think I'll just go without a headlight for a while.

Baja lights use H3 bulbs. Stock are 35W but a lot of people replace with 55W without any problems.

The lower lights of the Baja models are always H3s, they haven't changed those, yet. (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005.)

2006?!?!? Who knows - at least Bombardier actually changes thier machines each year, you could buy a used 88 Banshee and it is almost identical to a 2005 Banshee aside from the color of the plastic and the rust. Not to mention Yamaha made one change to the 88 model year over the 87, they lost the stopid "J" arms and went to "A" arms. What the hell is a "J" arm anyhow? That sounds like a really bad idea however you look at it.
