Before I rode a ds I had a 400ex, and loved it...Because I didn;t know any better. At the time I was 6'3" and about 280lbs.
When I got the ds I was like WOW, it fits !
I rode the ds for a few months and my friend wanted me to ride some wheelies on his 400..I felt like I was riding my neice's barbie jeep.
Ok, maybe I am exagerating, but it is a big difference, one that I do not want to go back to.

Those 450cc sport quads are just too small to be rode for any distance without getting all cramped up. I never have any problem with leg cramps, back aches, or other problems (except arm pump) when desert racing my DS, but I can't ride a YFZ for more than a mile or two without feeling like I need to get off the ATV and stretch out again. I rode one just yesterday and thought the same thing, and I wasn't even switching from a DS to a YFZ. My son and I had been on a ride in the desert of Arizona, and I had rode my YZ 250 dirt bike, while he rode his YFZ 450. At the end of the day we switched rides, and I rode the YFZ because he wanted to ride my new YZ (I just bought it yesterday), and even when switching from the bike to the YFZ 450 I couldn't believe how small and cramped the YFZ felt. It feels like your knees are higher than your wrist when you are sitting on the seat. That thing is pathetic, I don't know how anybody can ride them. Thanks for the tips guys. It's very helpful when other people are into the sport as much as I am and can offer assistance.Nice to know I'm not alone when it comes to swapping bikes. The Barbie jeep was comment was pretty funny but thats pretty much how it is.............
