BIGDOG

Could it be the engine mod's? Would the CDI do the same on a stock engine?

I have had the pro-com for about a year, it was the second mod I did. First mod was a pipe. I noticed the kickback shortly after I put on the new CDI but I didn’t put 2 and 2 together. It wasn’t until I had to replace 1300.00 worth of parts that I started asking questions. We did a little experiment a couple of weeks ago. 1. we started the bike a few time with the Pro-Com and got kickback. 2. we switched the CDI boxes back to stock and started the bike a few times. No kickback. That told me it had to be the timing. I thought about the MSD Box but I hear it won’t take the abuse of desert racing so I’m going with the vortex ill let you know how it turns out.

I'm looking for a RWR CDI or equivalent for my 2004 DS. So if someone has one lying around collecting dust PM me.

Anybody here anything on the Janssen Racing CDI

Same kick back problem, returned the first one and they replaced it no problem however the replacement unit had the same problem. I bought the Ron Wood unit and no kick back problems at all and it revs quicker as well

Backup thing? Kickback problem? I've never read anything about that in the past. Can someone elaborate?

I got a CDI through White Brothers, not sure who makes it for them, but I got the same kickback problem too. Not worth the $1500 to fix the broken parts when it happens so I'm switching to a Vortex also.
