I think we'll be at Glamis that weekend. I did a search for Tierra Del Sol In Ocotillo Wells and didn't come up with squat - does anyone have any more info? Is this like a substitute event for the Off Road for Hope that got canceled due to some woman who died? (Some woman (just a spectator) who went to the Off Road for Hope died because she needed medicine but neglected to take it - so they canceled the event permanently.) The only Tireea Del Sol I found was the name of an off road club for jeeps.

Yup that be it....not very likley that it is canceled though. This is one very huge event held once a year. It is on Ansa Borego land. Just before the turn off to the ansa borego ridding area. You take North Marina Dr. for a couple miles or so into the desert and find a spot amongst the many thousands of other RV's and such. Excelent time watching these guys and gals tear up their toys. Plust there is some perty good nobbie tire ridding to be had. If ya want to know exacctly how to get there Dave is much better at directions that I am.

Dave, what piston do you have now? I was talking to larry and I found a Wiseco 11:1 and a Stage 1 Hot Cam for $230.00 total. Is that a good deal? I have never been very fond of Wiseco though but I have heard they have gotten better. Were do you get all your stuff?

Here ya go Chris. Heres what I found.
This site is the club that some of these guys belong to http://www.sdorc.org/ When ya get to the site one of the things to read is the news on Thruckhaven. Then click on the link for coming events.

Also if yo go to Davids Video site he has some vids of this event from last year also.

Nope.. I won't be going out again until March 25th-28th. I'll be going to Glamis again because my best friend wants to take me for my B-day.......

Larry, one of these day we'll get together if I have to ride the damn thing to your house..

Anza Borego ridding area is great and you do take North Marina Dr. ( WEST) for a couple miles. I've been there close to 30 times or more. If you want specific directions I can e-mail maps or you can look under the "where to ride" section of this forum and check out the california portion. I posted directions there as well.

E-mail

BB's areon order. I am useing the 11:1 102mm Wiseco piston now. I have 3 JE's with holes so I figured time to try a different piston and of course I rejetted up again to try an combat any situations going on to cause the holes. I'm back to stock needles and mikuni jets 195/200. Seemed to run good the first trip out. Hard to judge any power gains or losses due to the wet sand but I also dropped in compression from 12:1 to 11:1 so I'm sure I lost a couple ponies. Anywho. A stage 1 cam can be had for around $130 and a stock bore 11:1 Piston wiseco for around $110 so I'd say that's a good deal for ya. Plus add $40-$50 for gaskets. You can try Ripperracing.com but he doesn't list and piston sets for the Grizzly. There is always ebay, I see a lot of piston and cam sets on there. Craycraft might be able to hook you up but they'd be a JE or a Ross piston and not sure if they have them for the Grizzly. Magnolia Yamaha, has good prices. Don't know a number nut if you put up a post in the Yamaha forum I'm sure you'd get a reply.
