Parting it out. . . IMO.
I recently saw a motor on eBay for $500 and it didn't get a bid!
You couldn't really sell it as a whole motor less cams. You would be lucky to get $500 for it.
I would think your parts would be worth about:
Head (less cams) - $300-$400
Jug - $100
Piston - $.01
Crank - $150 depending on demand
Tranny - $100 depending on demand (seen them on eBay and they aren't selling for $60 to $80 (I think the seller has too high of a reserve.)
Cases - $50???
Of course. . . all depends on if someone has a need. I wouldn't mind picking up some spare parts but, I'm paying bottom dollar for used parts. . . unless I need them.

I actually bought that motor off of Ebay and it did have one bid. He relisted it. Let's just say I paid more than $500.00 for it. I just want to sell my old motor to recoupe some of the cost of the new one. Just seeing how much it's worth. Parting it out sounds like a better idea from the input you have given me.
