I think MRHP says run 175 mikuni main jet, stock needle clip on 5th groove (bottom), keep airbox lid on for best performance due to stock carb being a vacuum slide.

What I found works best for me, at 3000 to 6000 ft elevation, is to run the stock pilot jet; one clip position richer on the needle; and the stock main jet. When I am required to run with the spark arrestor for desert racing, I will also run with the stock airbox lid on, and it runs really good. But it does not have quite as crisp of a response, or feel like it has quite as much power as it does with the spark arrestor out, and a free flowing Outerwear style airbox lid in place, which is the set-up I use at the dunes. And I run with the same jetting, whether I am running with or without the stock airbox lid, or the HMF spark arrestor.

I was a little amazed at what jetting I ended up with on my HMF. I run a Dynojet 205 with a Dynojet needle on the top position. I'm not finished with the tuning yet, (my RPM pick up on my Dyno took a crap). I don't run an airbox either, just a K&N. I have over 20 hours on the Dyno playing with this combo. It works really well, I went from losing to my two buddies, (TRX 450 and Predator, both piped) to being able to drive around them. If you spend the time, this carb will work without the airbox.

I run a 170 main(Mikuni jet), needle in the richest position, stock pilot, airbox lid on. I ride 500 to 1400 ft above sea level.
All these are suggestions that will get you in the ballpark, you will have to tune it in from there.
