Do a search for the title "DS light". It will give you an idea.

Yeah I seen the thread "lightening up my DS". I didn't know if ya'll were actually cutting parts of the frame out or had an aluminum frame or what. Thanks

There was a forum member that finished 5th last year at pikes peak. He has since sold the DS on ebay & have not seen him on the forums for awhile now.

Falicon built the first 8mill crank for me using my dimensions. I put it in Randall's motor and we tested it on the dyno and track to see if it would hold up to severe abuse. This crank is still running in Randall's motor which is setting in Sandbombers bike right now.

The 730 and 800 are same bore size (105.5mm). 800 uses the 8mill crank and a long skirt 730 cylinder because the longer stroke pulls the piston down into the cases deeper.

840 is 108mm bore with 8mill stroke.

730- 800- 840 are all the same cylinder but machined to different dimensions. There are only two 108mm cylinders made at this time. And I left room to go to 109mm.

730 requires no case machining at all. 800 requires case machining for cylinder and case trenching for the 8mill crank. 840 requires massive case machining, dowell pin relocation, case trenching etc.

The existing 105.5 Pami cylinder can not be bored to 108mm nor can an existing 730 cylinder. This would make the cylinder skirt extremely thin. If the casting has enough meat it could be custom machined with a larger skirt outside diameter to maintain proper skirt thickness. This is what what I did on the two custom 108mm cylinders.

Pike's Peak - Sterling ran that a few times. I haven't seen him post in a while. I may have his contact info. . . if not Gary at TVI worked with him on parts so he may have his info too.

Very good question. Im planning on having mine down to the 300 or less range. If those drag frame bikes are any less than that...I wonder if they are that kind of money in the first place.
