You wont catch me without one on. It just doesnt feel right haulin az without a helmet than with one. And thats not to say that you have to being fast to get seriously hurt, some of my worst crashes have been in second gear. I wont ride with people that dont wear one. Simple as that.
Its sad to see people get hurt just for the sake of "lookin cool" ... But whatever you want , take yourself out of the gene pool if ya want, no harm to me.
BUT if you crash and burn make sure you dont soak your insurance company for the tab or leave a wife and kids that have to depend on the government to support them cuz your a fool!
Its one thing to take precautions and get hurt VS the other option.

Its unfortunatly the acts of a few that represent the many. Remember the ATV controversy in the 80s I think it was when they had the Nightline or 60mins special on how dangerous the ATVs (3 wheelers ) were and how so many people were getting mamied or killed? STUPID people doing STUPID things resulted in ATVs being banned.
I would hate to see that play out again ... Im not saying it will cuz of helmets , just trying to firm up the point of how people can screw it up for others.

 

The issue of wearing a helmet is one that everyone riding a bike whether it’s on or off the road has to deal with. IMO regardless of the laws as they pertain to your state it becomes a moral issue as well as a financial one. First think of the emotional impact you would have on your family if you injured your head and became paralyzed or a vegetable. How would you explain that to your children…..? How would you explain to your wife that the house and all your possessions were impounded to help offset the medical costs….?

I could go on and on but there is more to this issue then just saying “I have a choice and I choose not to do what I know to be right”

B. There aint no way on gods green earth i am gonna crash my quad riding between the F@CKING house and barn.
C. I wear my helmet when i will be riding like a retard. maybe some of you are not self controlled enough to know when its time to be a retard and when its time to not.

Like I said before 99.9% of the time HELLO!!!!!!!! A helmet saved my like once!!!! I hit the pavement at 70mph on a street bike HELLO!!!!! I just want the choice!!!!!!!! I think the helmet law is about as stupid as the seatbelt law out here in california. If im jumping or racing sure i wear my helmet, but if were at the river just shooting a cruise the helmet has to go. There is nothing worse than a helmet on a 110 degree day. If you are under 18 you should wear a helmet, if you are over you should have the right to choose. First came the seatbelt laws, then they banned assault rifles, now helmets. A couple of years from now you wont be able to ride at pismo. If people started taking care of themselves instead of depending on the government, maybe we could keep the government out of everything else. Who gives a crap where some stupid bird lays its eggs, they are just looking for reasons to close these places. We know this farmer who cant farm his land anymore due to a stupid kangaroo rat, and another guy cant do it anymore becouse the government found a little shrimp or something in a drainage pond. As adults we should have the rights to choose. If i hurt myself i am responsibal for that, im not gonna blame them becouse they did not have a helmet law. people are to sue happy these days. If someone wrongs you thats different but if you do it yourself to bad.
