Default Shock tuning question

just put on a set of alka dunes on the front of the busa, they seem to work well (no sand here in wisconsin to test) i am still running the rear stock shock (12"over swing arm) and when i adjust it so it's sits level to the front of the machine, seems like i lose alot of travel. unlike biggers bike mine weighs more than befor and with my 230lbs on top of that the rear shock in stock form has all it can handle. i guess i'll just have sell a few more cars and save up for a new rear alka

Default Shock tuning question

For the fronts, I suggest just setting your spring to a different location, thus stiffening or loosening the suspension. It did wonders for me. And as far as the read, I just had my shock refilled with the 300lbs of nitrogen (this is way high, but what the manual suggests. racing shocks don't even generally go that high) and when my father took off the end knuckle, the needleshaft blew out along with all the pressure and oil. My father did it out of ignorance in order to attempt to put the springs back on. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE..... the shock is currently en route to Works Performance to be rebuilt. Just don't do this, put make sure your nitrogen is what it should be.... I only found out mine wasn't correct after I destroyed the shrader valve.... THE TANK STILL HELD IT'S PRESSURES even with the destroyed valve.

Default Shock tuning question

Hi i bought a 2003 quest 500 2 wheel drive and added 4 drive later (did it myself) after i done that the suspension went realy bad and i mean bad (i thought it was already bad).
Solution: I have a snowmobile Polaris 700 RMK it turned out that the shocks on that one had the same lenght and bolt dimension as the atv.
So i borrowed them (FOX adjustable) and i got a new machine. wow what a difference first the height up 8 cm ca a progressive feeling yes total satisfaction.
I had always tought that on the 4x4 version it was mounted adjustable shocks as standard and that it was cheaper shocks on the 2x2.
But it seems like i´m wrong am i?

Default Shock tuning question

How big of an extended swingarm can you have before you start running into problems with the shock. Or does your weight have alot to do with it. I was just wondering what size swing arm i will need for my 730 build and if i will need to replace the shock. i weigh about 335. Hey bigger did you get the package i sent you?

Default Shock tuning question

the upper mount for the rear shock was moved back on the busa because of the 12" over swing arm.
