Default Question about oil bleeding screw?

I just got done reading all 13 pages about oil related posts a few people think it shouldnt be necessary to use the bleeder screw on newer models a couple that come to mind are majorecho and hightower both very knowledable so here is my question my motor has been sittting since november with no oil in it I had it torn apart and now getting ready to start it and looked at my bleeder screw and it is kinda stripped looking must be from the guy I bought it from cause I have never tried loosening it,after i fill my tank with oil can I just leave the filter off and crank it over till oil comes out the filter area or do I have to take it to a dealer and get it pulled out for 25.00 dollars? I have changed the oil before and just cranked it till the light went off then started it will that work now? I have a 2002 with the bleeder hose in the line, any recommendations?

what i do is just turn your kill switch off and turn the bike over untill your oil light goes off, then u know u have oil pressure...i never use the bleeder screw or pull my filter..should take about five or six seconds of turning her over to get pressure then your ready to go..

Default Question about oil bleeding screw?

Pull a spark plug out while cranking it over, it will put less strain on your starter and will spin over faster.
