I had a tailgate stolen off an old Ford I used to have. That was before they integrated a lock in the tailgate. I was fuming too!!!!!!!!

 

when i camp, i will cover the bikes with something that makes a lot of noise to even move

the dog will then wake me up if there is a rustle

most of the time,,,im right next to the fire till sun up,,,so it doesnt really matter

Kriptonite cable works for me so far. I know its not fool proof but it helps me sleep at night. I always have my 9mm with me but alot of good it does. I sleep like a bear and thought the gun may be semi-auto, last I checked it still needs somebody to shoot it.
