St. Joe state park is located a little bit south of St. Louis (MO). It used to be an old lead mining operation. When they mine lead they end up with a lot of leftover stuff called "tailings" that very closely resembles sand. They say the park is about 2000 acres of riding area, and I would guess a couple hundred arces of it is nice, very flat "tailings" great for racing or just seeing what your bike will do. The rest is all trails (lots of trails). It is good trail riding, although not quite as technical as I would like, but still a good time.

I wish I could have made it down. We all went a couple of weeks ago, and I am not able to get off of work very easy, so my dune season may not be good this year. I haven't even been on the puter lately been working alot. Sounds like you guys had some fun, well maybe next time I can join in..

When I went last summer it was pretty crowded. If they enforced the spark arrester and decibel limits they would have emptied the park. So in answer to your question Crazy, no, it's not enforced. In fact, I've never been hasseled at any of the parks in Missouri.
