DS...bent crankshaft??
#1
What is the likelihood of bending the crankshaft in the DS Rotax engine??
I bought a DS a few weeks back, and with it came an additional motor. When I asked what was wrong with it, his response was...the crankshaft "might" be bent....
Any input??

He must have some reason for saying this???
Short of an answer. . .
Pull the magneto cover and see if the magnet appears to wobble as it turns over. If so, the crankshaft is broken. This is the typical spot where the crankshaft breaks but, there are only a small few who have had that occur.
IF. . . . he meant the connecting rod bearing was bad so the crankshaft was shot. . . that's another issue. The crankshaft may be fine but, the main bearing may be bad. If that's the case, let us know. . . there are always new homes for cranks with bad main bearings
