Default LT250R Crankshaft & Crankcase Question

I need to install my crankshaft from a 87 LT250R in the left crankcase and my book said you needed a special tool to do this correctly. I called my dealer to get a price and he told me all I need to do was heat up the case with a heat gun and the crankshaft would slide right into place. Have anybody heard of this? I have heard of this for replacing seals and bearings. Also is it strange that the crankshaft came out of the case without any special tool? It slid right out. The crank is fine I just split the case to clean it out because it had a piston blow. The shaft appears to go right back into place, and I have now been told this is fine, but I wanted to check with you Suzuki guys. Any info on this would be great.
Thanks

Default LT250R Crankshaft & Crankcase Question

I would put the crank in the freezer overnight and use a rubber mallet to tap it in. It should just pop right in with no problems.

Default LT250R Crankshaft & Crankcase Question

If it came out with no force then it should go back in no problem. I think a heat gun might be a little hot, what I normally do is turn the case upside down with a light bulb under it for an hour or so. I also put my crank in the freezer for a day because mine is very tight. But you don't have to do that since it came out so easily. Good luck
