Default NOS Downsides?

check out boss noss. BOSS SEATS
FULLY REGULATED SYSTEM. WORKS GREAT ON SLED. FUEL IS DELIVERED BASED ON NITROUS PRESS SO YOU CAN GET A CONSISTANT HIT EVERYTIME. supposed to work right down to the last few ounces in the bottle. they are claiming whit a 5lbs bottle 6 mins worth of juice. I AM CURENTLY INSTALLING a 50 shot ON MY 2005 MACH Z. I dont know this for sure, as I dont own the system, but from what I gather, the system is only designed to carry the fuel for ten seconds, then you have to let off the button momentarily to reset the fuel pump, then you can push it again. If you remain holding the button, the fuel runs out and things go boom! I think I read that over on snow west somewhere. Also, how much nitrous you use depends on what size shot you run, so what size shot did they there calculations on? The truth is, if you run a big shot, it just dont last as long, no matter what system you use. Boondockers uses the most nitrous over all the kits, but a true wet system will be the most efficient system there is. I gather boss noss is in the middle, would you say?

I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE CARB SYSTEMS, BOTH MY SLED AND NOW MY BIKE ARE INJECTED. THE FUEL FOR THE NOSS RUNS OFF THE FI PUMP AND THAT PUMP NEVER SHUTS OFF ON EITHER. EVERYTHING ELSE IS INDEPENDENT INCLUDING ELECTRIC,

I know, the boss system it self shuts the fuel off at ten seconds, but I could be wrong. Let us know how it works. By the way have you got many miles on the mach? Or is it new? I just dropped off a sled at the dealers for them to sell, I have a summit 1000 coming, its a late release 05.

From what I have seen so far, the Boss Noss, still looks a lot more complicated than the Boondocker. That control module looks a lot bigger than the Boondocker manifold too. Also, about $100 more. Maybe there are advantages to the Boss that out weigh those things... dunno.

I suppose being self-powered is a good thing for certain two strokes, but I fail to understand why you'd need a redundant source of electricity (i.e. Boss Noss Battery) if the system can operate off of the constant voltage supply off of a 4 stroke quad. Im still trying to understand the Boss Noss more, but the BD only uses electricity for one reason, the solinoid that controls the flow of Nitrous. Every thing else is pressure regulated and requires no electricity. I understand that BD will give a free rechargeable battery away with thier system for quads like the Banshee which have no constant regulated source of electricity.

That's how a real small shot makes 30hp on an efficient purpose built NOS engine.
