i know that the 04 swingarm is shorter but is the brg carrier and everything else the same? can you swap them with the same bushings and bearings? i have an 04 swingarm and was going to use it as a pattern. for my 03.

What's up Shmee. Once again it was fun down in LS over Easter. But anyway, in answer to your question, The OD of the swingarm bushings are the same but the ID is not. When I put on my extended swingarm they sent along some bushings that must be for an '03 or earlier, cause the bolt hole was much too big (and there were no roller bearings). Luckily I was able to punch out the bushings (that also have roller bearings inside them) from my stock swingarm and use them. As far as the axial carrier goes it fit right into my new swingarm no problem. Hope this helps.

Sounds stupid, but I have no idea who made it. It was one Mr. HP had laying around. He sent me a picture and I liked it because it was "tubular" not squared off like most of them you see. Call him and ask where he got it. Sorry I'm not more help.

so let me get this straight the 04-05 swingarms are shorter than earlier ones? how much shorter? i would love a shorter swingarm, it would make the frontend a bit lighter while riding.

I've been told that not only are the pivots different as mentioned, but also the brake caliper mount is different and the lower shock mount is different. I haven't done the swap but looked into it a while back, and these are what I recall being told to me.
