rear bearings grease, tips??
my ds has been recalled for rear bearings not greased properly. taking my ds back to the dealer is not a option for me. i have the shop manual, and i got the special axle nut tool. i've never packed bearings with grease, is there any tricks or tips u guys have for me??

you can pack them in the palm of your hand. just push/slap the edge of the bearing down in the grease until you see grease coming out the top edge. do this all the way around. then coat the outside and install. or buy a lube cage that has a zerk on it. then lube with a gun. the key is to make sure you get grease behind the rollers throughout the cage. not just the outside of the bearing.
I also noticed that bomb does not put any lube between the bearings in the carrier. I would atleast coat the inside of the carrier. it will not help lube the bearings. but it will help displace moisture.

I too use a ziploc baggie. Just fill it about 1/4 way with grease and then stick your bearing in. mush it around until you are sure that grease is properly packed into the carrier. Also I like to use a high grade boat grease in my bearings that I don't grease all that much. Grease designed for boat trailers, and outboard motors usually have teflon in them, and are extremely waterproof, "well as waterproof as and grease can be".
