Rectifier wiring.....please help.
#1
Hi all,
I'm replacing my toasted rectifier with a better one from a BMW. The plugs on the new rectifier do not match the plugs on the Bomb, so I'm using the plugs off of the old rectifer. The output wire's on the BMW are red, with a white stripe, and the other is a solid green. Since I'm not knowledgable in electrical stuff, could some one tell me which one is positive, and which is negative?
Thanks for your help!!!

Yeah, he's the reason I'm using this rectifier. He ran his wire's right to his battery, where I'm using the plug. I'll PM him, and hopefully get a response soon. My wife is out with the baby, so I have some free time to work right now...lol.

I haven't seen Scooby around here in awhile. The last time that I saw him post was in the Yamaha forum. He might be at the Snake Hunt in LS Ok. If he is it might be acouple of days before you here from him.

Oh well, maybe some one else will chime in shortly... I don't see why the wire's aren't red, and black like they are on the Bomb rectifier...too easy I guess.
Thank's anyways.

It would seem after reading the electrical section on the BMW faq page that the green wire is the ground. You should check it out and see if thats what you think anfter reading it.
