alright, i finally put my ds on the dyno. full stage II kit. the tm45 does not have the accelerator pump activated and it has a dyno jet kit. the hp was 48.39 and the tq was 39.86. i live in kansas and i have a 145 main in the carb with a carb mount filter. i was expecting more like 55hp. the guy running the dyno said that the exhaust sniffer said that it was way fat. it did not want to pull past 7000 rpm. it did but not with any power. i called ron wood and he said for my altitude and temp i should be running a 147.5 jet with a stage II. he also said that i should be around 55 hp and should pull strong to 9000 rpm. do i have to activate the accelerator pump to get the hp that i am looking for and should i go back the the k&n in the airbox. is that dynojet hurting my performance. my intake was also ported by sandcrazy 10. his intake is a lot more ported than the woods. please help

what tires and gearing are you running? It all makes a difference. I've seen other bikes with more mods that didn't make much more power than yours. Don't sweat it, all dynos are different, they're good for comparisons for before and after on mods, which will tell how much you've really gained. Use it as a tool for jetting and don't put too much emphasis on the peak numbers.

I saw a bike with some HPR goodies on it that was supposed to be about a 58-60 HP kit. It dynoed much lower. This dyno just wasn't as forgiving. Not saying it didn't have the ponys, saying that dyno didn't show it with the tires and gears

I've seen on the dyno that running fat can lose as much as 5 to 6 hp. That would put you in the hp range you expect.

On the intake, sometimes MORE ported is not better!!

The carb mounted filter needs less jet than a carb running the snorkel.
