I have never just swaped a 11.5 to 14.o with out doing other mods too.
The new 14 to 1 is with in 3 grams of MrHp super light and is strong enough for NOS and durable enough for circle track. It's already clearanced for the high lift cams and big valves. If you want to lower the compession just put another base gasket on. It should have you in the 12.? to 1 range.

What is the best 14:1 piston?
If your going to put juice to it then you are going to have to find a piston that has a good thick crown and maybe put the ring package down a bit to shield the rings from the heat. You will loose some RPM by doing this but better that than have a "religious" piston or turn your rings inside out.
