Picked up my new DS!
#1
Well guys I picked up a leftover 04 Baja on Friday and rode all weekend... this thing is bad azz. I think I made the right decision. My buddies were quite impressed with the motor and suspension.
BTW, I went with the new method of "Break In"... ride it like you stole it, hope I don't have any problems!
First mod will be a Yosh slip on, but I do have a question. How much of a power increase can I expect with this? I mean as of now I have to work pretty hard to get the front end up, will this change with the exhaust?

hey there jmann
i got a 05 ds at christmas and have got a slip on yet but i did get the grinder out to the spark arrestor and a screwdriver to the inner pipes and boy has it made a difference heaps more power. I have no problems with three gear power wheelies now and it has not made much of a diffence to the noise factor i gave it a more beefer sound took the fluttering sound out. Iam a guy that ways about 200 pounds so its got to make a difference to get the front wheels of the ground

Hey Jmann
I went with the Big gun quiet series for mine. man it made all the difference in the world. I can pull wheelies in 1 - 3rd if I want. I also dropped the front sprocket down one gear for dune riding. the nice thing with the big gun is it gives you about 8 more horse power but keeps the noise level down.

I still can't ride a wheelie on my Ds. I don't blame the machine but me instead. I grew up on dirt bikes and it was just easier for me to find the balance point on them. I've tried several times but with the wieght of the front end on the DS I just can't find that balance point..
