Looking for a Rev Limiter
Guys....he wanted to go a less expensive way. The Graydon Proline is $400.00 and the MSD is over $450.00. He asked to stay under the $300.00 price tag for the RWR CDI........Don't suggest the Dyna because it's in the upper $300.00's also.
I contacted Big Gun about the Rev limiter and they have two different versions. The Rev limiter, and the OVER rev limiter. The over rev limiter allows you to go to 12,000 rpm where the standard rev limiter holds you at 8,500 RPM. I sent them an e-mail asking if the "Over" model is programmable to stay at a lower rev such as 10,000 since our tack's don't go over 10,000 anyway.....I'll let you know what I find out.

"If the CDI allows it to rev past 12,000 RPM can you program a limit, say like 10,000 RPM?
Thanks Don"
"Its pre-programmed,
Big Gun"
There you have the answer. It is setup similar to the RWR although I don't know why anyone would want to rev above 10,000 RPM......

Looking for a Rev Limiter
I have the standard model ,no tach. What is the factory rev limiter set at on a 2004 ? I don't plan on going with any internal motor mods, just a jet kit,K&N,either a slip on or a billet tip ).I was debating over changing the front sprocket (lower ratio) , that too would keep the rev limiter out a little longer. Yesterday i put in a best offer bid on a Big Gun "Over Rev Limiter" , it stated it raised RPM's 1200 , but it also says it tops out at 12000 rpm's ( i'm confused) .I thought the 1200 rpm increase took it to 12000 ,that was before i read todays posts. This unit sounds like overkill for me unless it's programmable.Any member advice is greatly appreciated , as this is my first Quad (never even rode one ). Some of you are probably thinking ,WTF ROOKIE ! But hey, it,s not as fast as my Mach Z.
