Default Headers still way orange/red

This thing is running way hot out of the motor and into the exhaust. She still hauls *** though! I have the main jet at 172.5, the pilot screw out to 5.5 turns, and a trinity full pipe on it. My elevation is 600 ft, and it should not be running like this. Any suggestions? I would like to get this fixed, it's been down for a while. And I just got done messing with it some more today.

172.5 is good. If your air screw is 5 1/2 turns out you need a 45 pilot jet and set it back around 3 to 3 1/2 turns out. Needle in the 4th or 5th groove down from the top. That should be preety close.

Yeah that's the next step is the needle adjustment. I hope it works, and I do need to get a 45 pilot... where to get one? I'm going to take it to the mechanic shop I work at tomorrow and let my boss who's excellent with carbs tweak it a bit.

Needle is now in the fifth groove.... Pilot is still at it's 40, and screw is out to three turns. It's running great! The only problem I have is that it wants to hit that rev limited quicker now. I just got in from riding and it's great. When I did the change today, let it sit idling for about five minutes, the exhaust was running at about 330. Perfect temp out of the headers.
