i was wondering which quad yall recomend between a 660 Rator or a Ds 650

 

I prefer a DS650 but it comes down to what is the best fit for you and your style of riding.

 

To be honest I was not impressed with my buddies 03 Raptor, especially stock. Now he has put about 12 grand into it and I am still not impressed. I don't know how to explain other than it feels poorly built. On the other hand he is VERY impressed with my DS as am I. Depends on what you want, the DS is big, doesn't have reverse, and is pretty heavy. But I can live with all these and I like having a quad that not everyone has.

<edit>After reading what I wrote it sounds like I am putting down DS, let me reiterate I LOVE it and you couldn't get me to trade!</edit>

Don't be plannin to go into much snow or mud with the DS. Frank the tank doesn't do so well. Mite want to invest in some aftermarket tires. Other than that, the DS is a great choice. I have had my DS for almost 3 yrs and no major problems have been reported on my end.

depends i got the x for the gas shox nerfs which i now took off...second set of lights and i wasn't feeling the viper red

I have a DS and love it. I rode my buddies Raptor the other day. He has it piped and jetted, it runs very well, but I didn't like how bone jarring the suspension is. I'll take my plush DS suspension any day over the harsh Raptor. His Raptor runs good though.

 

I have owned both of those ATVs, and between those two I would definitely choose the DS650. You will need to spend a lot of money on a-arms, axle, and shocks for the Raptor to get it to be the equal of a stock DS650.
