JDsBusa thinks the Phantom must do his homework before he can come play.

BUT, it will be a four stroke.

Golden West Cycle? High Ranking Person??? Let me go to the Post Office box down the street from me that they use as their main company address and see what it has to say. Oh I forgot, its at a Mail Boxes Ect. so maybe the guy behind the counter there will have some inside info I used to call their phone number a bunch of times to try and order parts, but all I ever got was an answering machine and nobody ever called me back. Sorry Vegas650, but I can't place much credibility in that one. LOL

Do not ask for that which you do not want to encounter my friend. I enjoy the fun you are having at my expense and think that I have made an indelible mark in the forums....Remember, you asked for it....
As to the viability of a 450 2 stroke coming out, I would highly doubt that validity of that statement and do so on this observation...It is known that BRP is very interested in racing considering their interest in Baja racing. They are not a large volume sport manufacturer and would need a 450 class four stroke to boost sales and be viable in most classes in the GNC and GNCC series. You can not run a 450cc 2 stroke against 450cc 4 strokes. They would need the class to allow greater than 250cc's for the 2 strokes which won't happen. Therefore a 450 2 stroke would either be another open class quad and a replacement for the departing Banshee.
I think that would only happen if they release a 450 4 stroke first to boost sales....

The Phantom...is looking forward to the KTM high performance quad!!!.....

Why did anyone even mention Phantom? If you guys let it go maybe he will too (400 posts since this March???...). Anyway, I'd give my left nut for a 2-stroke DS450, with BRP's 2 stroke technology this would outsell all other sport bikes if it was reasonably weighted and an overall killer package. I still mantain that races do not sell quads like they do bikes, people that ride quads do so because they tackle a variety of terrain, not just doubles. If manufacturers sell bikes for the racing circuit, I'm sure anyone that would break the mold would sell double that by just producing what people want, not whats allowed in racing (this situation reminds me of the muscle car era and NASCAR, where officials basically dictated what performance engines were produced for the public - what an abuse of power). I'l bet anyone that if there was a Raptor produced with the same killer technolgy as a YFZ, with reverse as well, around 700cc it would outsell 2 to 1 the 450s. People crave power and technology, thats why there's an aftermarket. If BRP gives the finger to organized racing and produced something everyday people want, they would have an overwhelming hit on their hands. Hell, even give it 4WD to satisfy that gaping void in the market.

Mark my words, if an excellent-handling 450 2 stroke is ever produced, it will be the biggest hit EVER, overshadowing even the YFZ and all-mighty 250R.
