hello all,
my oil pump blew, i had my 03 bomb quest 650 for all of 8 miles. the check oil light was on, but i thought it was the check gasoline light,(shows my intelligence:-) so i rode it for the whole 8 miles. at about the 8 mile point. i noticed a distinct change in pitch with the engine, followed by some excessive valve tapping noise, so i quit riding and called the dealer. so the dealer does their thing with the atv. they leave me a message saying the oil pump died and subsubquently a gear(what gear i wonder?) was burned out so they will replace this part and get the atv back to me.
so here is my problem, i dont want this atv back, i had it a total of 1 hour of worth of riding and 8 miles. the oil pump blew, who knows what damage this could have caused inside the engine. maybe there isnt any damage to the engine ,but there very well could be, so why should i take the risk? do u guys think i am justified with this position?
