Default Misfire or Safety Feature

When climbing a hill my new DS act like it is starving for gas when I go from a low speed pull and crank the fuel to it. Around 2000 RPM is when this occurs and it only does it going up hill on flat ground or going down hill the thing runs like nobody's business. It done it everytime I got on a steep hill today but if you back off and keep the rev down it will continue to pull. Any ideas anyone

I am serious, it says in your signature you have a 2006 ds650 x isnt it still under warranty? if it was mine i would clean the carb and check my jets and float level, it sounds to me like it is starving for fuel, if it only does it when you go up a hill the easiest thing is to see if it does it just with the fuel turned on or if it does it with the fuel in the reserve location, maybe there is a hunk of dirt or something rolling around in your tank and when you go up a hill it covers the fuel pickup, just my .02 cents

All stock it should not do this. Try unscrewing your gas cap a bit to allow air to enter the tank. The DS has a funky vent system that easily can get a kink in it. If the tank does not vent then fuel will not flow to the carb.

I think Sandaholic has it. No need to take it to the dealer and let them dink with your machine for two weeks when you may just need a ten minute fix. The fuel vent hose is almost a cool idea, until you start having problems like this. The dumb little hose (looks like fish tank air tubing) gets kinked, or pinched or disrupted so easily. Some people make a permanent solution by re-routing the hoseand that seems to work well enough.
