Finally found out about my glowing headers!
I just got off the phone with Kevin at Trinity Racing, and he said that it is normal for the headers on their system to ..."glow red as a sunova*****". So I guess I don't have a problem with that. I still need to call Works about the sound my rear shock is making. It sounds as if there is an improper seal because you can gas exchange. Anyone have this? Stock never had it, well it is the stock just rebuilt, didn't do it before. And I'm still looking for rear fenders and stuff!

The headers might glow a bit, but if they are bright you are lean and near the point of risking damage. fatten that boy up! try one or maybe two sizes larger on the main, and consider running the needle in slot #5 then see what happens. Jet your machine too rich then lean it out.

Sometimes glowing headers are caused by a rich condition. Think about too much fuel in the combustion chamber passing on into the head pipe because it cant all be burned in the cylinder.
Same thing happens when ignition timing is set too low. The mixture is lit too late, cant be completely burned in the combustion chamber and continues to burn in the head pipes after the exhaust valves open causing excessive heat.

I have purchased performance parts from Trinity that didn't live up to their claims.
The best method I found for tuning the idle circuit was to do it at night in the dark so I could see the glow of the head pipes and than make an adjustment and see if the glowing increased of decreased after letting it idle for about 10 minutes after each change. I needed to richen the idle circuit in my case but Mr HP has a good point, so you could try going each way.
