i have 2 bikes and went out riding with my bro. When we finished one of the bikes was left on neutral instead of parking. We tried to start a week later and it wouldnt start easily and the gear shift is hard to move too. Now im not a professional and i dont know nething about mechanics can ne1 tell me the problem.

 

Try to rock it back n forth. They will only start in N or P as you know but sometimes it don't know that it is there. My GF's machine does it at times.

 

Make sure you press down on the rear brake pedal when shifting, makes it easier and doesn't stick as much.
