Too heavy? are you nuts!?! like it was said before, 639lbs is extremely light for the class and much lighter than the sp800. Too expensive? yeah maybe for your personal budget, but what isn't too expensive? Look at a 450R or yfz450. Thats alot of money for a 450 2wd. And I don't care what anyone says. None of the 450's that have come out have been race ready. The canondale was the only one that was close, but it was 12grand!!! Hell cars are too expensive....Toilet paper is too expensive....

For the big bore class, it's the SAME retail price as the sp800 at 8599....Max and STD. XT's are 9399 and Max XT's are 10199.....now remember, that's MSRP.

So same price as the sp800....but TWICE the bike!

They added a little bit more power than we have now, and a little bit more weight (compared to say a Grizzly 660), so it isn't going to feel all that much more manueverable or powerful, its just going to be bigger. So what, that doesn't impress me. Build the bigger engine, but keep the size and weight the same (or less) than what we have now and I'll be impressed. Otherwise I'll just buy a Jeep if I feel the need for something that big and heavy. Although I suspose I could also buy a Polaris if I wanted something with all the excitement of a barge.

Yea if all the other manufactures come out with 800's they are going to be the same or even heavier your not going to get anything lighter, and for what it is made for you dont want to be to light or it wont do any work.

ds 650 specs

Dude, your DS weighs in @ 500lbs dry weight without rider. Thats without 4wd, racks, and the xtra 150ccs of power. I can understand price, but for a big bore, I'm impressed. I am going to my dealer tomorrow.

The 800's do not feel heavy at all. In fact they are light feeling because the balance is right on, even on the max version. Plus the power overcomes the weight no problem since it does have a few extra pounds. When you look at the extra horsepower gain vs weight gain you come way out ahead. The handling and ride are second to none. Just like Dirt Wheels Mag said, handles as good or better than the Rincon amd as smooth as the Polaris 800 EFI, only power and maneuverability are way ahead, as is fun factor.
As for comparison to the Grizzly 660, not to bring down the Grizz, but please!!!!!!

So other than go faster, what will the Outlander 800 do that a King Quad or Grizzly can't do?

ATVs are kind of like snowmobiles (in one aspect). Sleds started out with 340s to 580s to 600s to 700s to 800s and now Bombardier/Skidoo has the RT 1000. The biggest, baddest, fastest powder sled on the market. Great deal right? Over 50% of the people I know who bought the RT 1000 are trying to sell them so they can buy back the Rev 800.

Not saying that the Outlander 800 is going to be the Ski Doo RT 1000 of ATVs, but it might.

Im sure it will have its problems just like anyother first year machine. It was the RT 1000's first year. Look at the king quad had the reverse problem. Im not saying its not going to have its problems but it will be the biggest baddest quad out there. But some people just dont want to hear that bombardier is going to have the best quad.
