I could see it beating a DS but not so much from the power to weight ratio but more of a combination of 4x4 traction combined with all that power from the 800. My 800 twin peaks is scary fast and will beat a DS but not by allot. I would estimate I have about 25 Hp more in my motor than the new outy has. I would be surprised if the outy could over power a DS from a rolling start.

I don't think they'll stop increasing engine size anytime soon because the ATV manufacturers will keep increasing engine sizes and giving them more power to try and stay ahead of the competition. It's like in the automobile industry, cars keep getting more and more power because that's what they have to do to stay ahead of the competition.

I would guess a 1000cc's will be the magic stopping point, I will give the MFG's this they have been good at stringing all this out. Just giving us a little more each year. You can coun't about 3-5 more years of this cc war, then it will be all about features and the rebate and warranty wars will start. But rebates on $10,000.00 and up 900-1000cc machines will be good for us and so will the better warranty's. It will start looking more and more like the auto industy does now. We might actualy get a JD powers or some other type of real quality data. That will make the MFG start looking at making them last longer, with better quality components. I am liking the way things are going, I think fokes need to remember power on hand is still controlled by the rider and how far they push there thumb forward.

Take the 1288cc heads off the Lynx branded BRP 1300 sled from europe , Its 102hp at the crank so it should = about what you were looking for and drop then onto the new outy 800. And there you go. That Should give you about 70-80 hp at the wheels. I am thinking about it. I would recomend using the Max chassis, It whould help to have the longer wheelbase, to keep the front wheels on the ground.

Actually, 800cc is probably going to be the max. In states such as Minnesota, that is the number set as the highest cc displacement allowed on the public trails. Also, anything higher can not be registared as an ATV, and must be listed as an off road vehicle.
I think...
Opps, sorry for the spelling, I am too lazy to fix.

Oh come on, why stop at 60 to 70 HP? If they have 150 HP 890cc triple cylinder Banshees with a powerband like a light switch, you can easily handle 90 hp on a trail ridden ATV, LOL. I hope the Outy is as good as the hype this time, because the real thing sure didn't match the hype with the SuzyQ or the BruteFarce. Can't wait until I get the chance to ride the Outy.
