Until you are able to find the leak, I would make sure it is full of coolant before starting the engine or you could overheat and damage it. The waterpump seal is usually make up of a rubber seal that surrounds the impeller shaft. There is a weep hole at the waterpump that will seep coolant when the rubber turns hard or is damaged. The coolent system is more likely to leak while the engine is running and warmed up. The heat makes pressure, so the coolant is under pressure and will be forced out more then normal. Hope I helped.

Everthing seems OK, but it is such a slow leak its hard to find it. the resovor is just below the MIN. so I know it has been leaking. It sat over nihgt and no puddle, just if it sits a long time.

If you are friendly with any auto repair shops, or radiator shop, you might have them do a leak detect test for you. This consists of putting a small amount of fluorescent dye in the cooling system (it has no effect on the system). Then after the bike sets for awhile, or is operated, or both you can take it to the shop and they will shine a hi-intensity black light at the components and the leak will be obvious, even if invisible to the naked eye. Of course you don’t have to be buddies with them, the service may cost more if you aren’t.

I have had 2 seals in mine and a new pump put in (this was when it was puddling). Mine now will use antifreeze, it goes somewhere, so I do not know if it is a leak or just spits it out every now and again. Take it to the dealer

Having to top off antifreeze every ride is a BAD sign!!! I had a cracked head. DS was down for 2 months! All started with coolant slowing getting lower and lower, followed by cream color oil.
