I've lightened the flywheel on my EX - The only thing that the stock weighted flywheel gives you is a nice smooth idle and the ability to lug the quad out. If you lighten the fly wheel, you'll get a snappier response. If you like to lug it, you'll have to work the throttle a little more than normal if you get it lightened.
