Hi, I hate to sound stupid, but can someone tell me if the deep oil filter cover is stock for a 03 ds650 baja. The reason I am asking is because I just picked up 2 new oil filters from a friend that owns a shop "not a bomb dealer" and the filters were about 1 inch shorter than the filter that I pulled out. The filter that I pulled out had a number of RB X339 and the filters that I got were RB X338. I do know that there is 2 different covers and filters but not sure what year they did this or if they did this on the baja models. My manual that I bought for this quad only shows 1 filter part number. So could someone shed some light on this issue so I can get the right oil filters, a part number would be great. The filters you got from your buddy are for a 2000 DS. You need filters for a 2001 or newer DS. The 2000 DS's had a flat cover for the filter cover and used the short fiter. Bomb decided to give the DS more filter area for the newer models and designed a longer filter and deep cover.
