I got the same email on my Quest I have for sale.
Since I had seen something like it in the past. I just told him to bring cash.. and I have not heard back. LOL
You have got to be careful online, some of these crooked ba$tards are tricky.

I strung the guy along for about a week, told him I got the check and he was pleading with me to cash it and wire him the difference. I got a few emails a day for about a week then I e-mailed him back and asked him if he thought I was really that F'n stupid. I reported it to some fraud agency.

It's very Simple. Have the guy send the check to an on-line escrow service. They work as a third party. They receive the funds in your name where you have already opened an account. They deposit the check and the funds are held until it clears all the while you remain in custody of the bike. Once the check clears Escrow tell you to deliver the bike to the buyer or he picks it up. I believe he has 48 hours to accept the bike or return it, all the while the Escrow company holds the money. This protects both you and the buyer from fraud. Once he accepts the bike Escrow will forward the balance of the funds to you and return the adjusted amount to the buyer. You take no chances and neither does he.
ESCROW
It works great on large purchases like bikes, cars and other high dollar purchases or when trust is an issue.

Even if you went so far as to send them pictures, make sure the pictures have copywright or something photo shopped on them. Otherwise, in a month or so, you'll see pictures of your quad for sale on Ebay, in a similar scam.
