I would buy the HPR 730 kit with the 11.1 to 1 piston and the TM 45 carb and the end cap all from HP Research. You will not be disappointed. You should be around the 60-62 hp range.

Well, you are looking at approx $2300 for that particular setup. You will have reliability, low end torque and you will be very competitive on the drag strip.

For what you are doing and looking for I would go with an 11:1 piston, port work and a set of cams (along with new valve springs) and new clutch springs.

When we talk Stage I, Stage II and Stage III this really goes back to Ron Wood as they were the first to offer such kits for the DS. They are at rotax(dot)net. You can also get their parts from On Dunes.

I would recommend a Stage II kit for you. This is much less expensive than the 730 and will offer huge gains and as well very good reliability.

A Stage II bike should have no problems in most drag races.

For your riding I would NOT suggest a drag pipe. I'm guessing you are riding in areas that are near population or that may require spark arresotrs. I think a full pipe is what most of us should look at, if for nothing else we don't want to be a bunch of loud riders causing noise issues or everyone will hate us.

There are a number of builders you can look at for this set-up:

On-Dunes
The Bom
HP Research
Ron Wood
TVI
etc.

All are very reputable.

If after all this you still want power for the drags, add a nitrous system and you'll have no problems with your buddies.

My 730 kit with ported intake and lectron 48, stock cdi and end cap. made 59 hp on TVI's dyno with no tuning. Price is more around 2700.00 for jug and piston, carb and ported intake. also you have all the little stuff like gaskets and filter. I dont know if the TM 45 will be big enough for the 730. I had to go with the Lectron 48.
