I hope to have the last part(springs) by friday. The organization that does my emulsion tubes only did 6 of them. He wants me to order 100 at a time. One more tests this weekend and then I will be able to quote a price.

I may have to destroy my prototype to get final dimensions. I just started a new job as Quality Manager for a screwmachine job shop. Maybe I can talk my boss into making my parts for me.

Thanks for all the info on stock carb mods. I ordered my jet kit today and will start mods this weakend. My question is: do I need 4 ports in the slide? My airbox lid will remain in place, K&N stock replacement filter, ballance tube will remain in place. Stock exaust in place since I MUST have a USFS sparky and I haven't seen an open end cap with one.

When the throttle slide is complete, you will have 4 vacuum ports, all drilled to 1/8 inch. Be carefull when you add the 2 new additional ports. Use a sharp pick or very pointed center punch to locate drill position. First drill with 1/16 drill and review hole location. If off slightly, then side drill with 1/16 drill to locate to best position. Then final drill with 1/8.

ok, i actually sat down and read this WHOLE dam thread...holy crap!! as you can see now, i have a stock 06. I ordered my dynojet kit and I'm waiting on that. right now it's a lil cold even in my garage here in michigan, and I really have to see my carb in front of me to understand some of this stuff. I will pull it off my bike when i get a chance and read thru some of this again to get a better picture. I guess I can't really ask too many questions right now till I understand everything a little better. I don't even understand what the jet sizes and locations exactly do, but when I see it it should make more sense. Right now, im running open lid and just bumped the idle up a little. when it was warm out it ran better, right now in the cold im guessing it's running rich. I should pull my plugs and take a look and see. any advice right now where im at is much appreciated. I know a lot of hard work and hours of testing and crunching some numbers went into this. thanks everyone especially OMR and Freez. I have thought about gettin a hold of the TM 45 carb but I don't know much about those yet and if I can make good power with the stocker then why not? I dont want to run just a K&N off the carb because of the conditions I ride it. Im more of a trail guy right now and it can get pretty nasty.
