The day has came that I truelly NEVER EVER EVER thought would happen. And what a twist of luck it was.
A fella my brother works with was looking for a good quad for his wife. He wanted something atuomatic and 4x4. SO my Bro told him about my 95' Polaris Explorer that I had. He called me up and asked if I would be interested in a trade, STREIGHT ACROSS. Well I jumped on it. I am now a owner of a 2002 Banshee. It has the FMF Fatty gold series chromed pipes and silencers, Boysen reeds, shaved head, K&N on the carbs, Boost Bottle, and a set of rear ITP holeshots on ITP rims along with the stock rims and tires. I think I made out pretty dang well on that trade. I know the Shee is worth alot more than the Poo was so I figure I will give it a try and see if I like it. If I dont I will be selling it and will buy either a KFX700(V-Force) or a DS and if the right one came along maybe a Poo Scrambler 400 or Sport 400.
The Shee is in pretty good shape. The front bumper is bent, no biggy, I will replace that soon enough. He had removed alot of the parts to make it lighter for dune riding but I received them all so some of them will be going back on. Reason is I wont be riding the dunes not even close to as much as I will trails. I rode it and was impressed to say the least. It flat out rips!! I would say very close to my DS on the NOS. I am so used to rideng Poo's though that it's going to take me a bit to get used to rideing a clutch again. It does need some tuning help done to it and being new to Shee's am not sure how to do it, but I will learn soon enough.
If I keep it, my plans for the future are to change the A-arms to long travel with some good shocks and have the rear shock reworked, a wider axel, and maybe an extended swingarm. May go back to full plastics as he has shaved the front fenders, graphics kit, some Roll Desighn foot pegs and nerf bars. Not sure if one is made but also want to look into a auto clutch. Of course a sand tire setup.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Not a butshee! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!Tell me it isnt so? j/k I like racing Matt and Danniele's, so you should enjoy that. Not so sure about that powerband on a tight cliff side, you'll be strolling about enjoying the scenery, then all of a sudden she'll come alive and rip right out of your hands, plunging 500' down to the bottom of an abyss. But hey keep your chin up, if that happens, no worrys, its just a yamaha, you can leave it there! BAHAHAHAHAHAH!j/k

Nahhh, I am going to prove that you can ride a Banshee and not have to have your hat backwards and no shirt to show off to the 10 tear olds. I will be in my gear and helmet on as always.
