Ok, I put the stock ignition(cdi and coils) back on.

I still have the "BAD" rectifier on.

Still no spark to the plugs.

Will the rectifier do this, or is there something else?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

 

The only thing I can think of besides the rectifier is the connection to the ignition. Check your connections to make sure. As far as the Rectifier being the culprit, who knows for sure? I know those are all bad anyways, might as well get it replaced with a good one.

 

Spoke to Majorecho today.

He says he had basicly the same problem and ended up having to change the trigger coil.

Hopefully this is it, then MAYBE my cdi is still OK.

 

It ain't the rectifier. Got to get a trigger coil.

Is rectifier the same as voltage regulator? If so mine was putting out 20 instead of 13 and was causing the engine to sputter.

It would idle fine but as soon as you throttled it it would sputter.

Are you getting voltage to the coils? One side should be battery votage with the ingnition on and in the thumb switch on.

 

When Larry and I checked that at Dumont(wiyh the MSD) we were not getting any voltage to the coil.

Assuming we checked it properly.

Neither of us know jack about elec.
