those are really good times especially the mph you ran. I am glad to see more ds650's running asphalt, it is alot of fun.
congrats

Hey crazypainter, if you do one thing get some good tires. The first 60ft will determine a huge amount of variance if something isnt right. If you drop .1 in 60ft you will gain roughly .15 at the 1/8 mile. When we run 1000ft .1 equals .2 at the end. With a good set of 20' american racers and a wheelie bar you can get into at least the 1.6 range in the 60ft and drop around .3 in the 1/8th mile. You will gain more if your doing any spinning past the 60ft mark.

I have been running my banshee at the drags here lately. A +6 swingarm and short wheelie bars dont work well together. So far I have posted a 7.05 at 93.38mph in the 1/8th mile and a 9.24 at 101.56mph in the 1000ft. But changing from the short 18' tires to my 20' tires made all the difference with rollout and gearing.

My bad, I just reread both again and understood what was going on. I am sorry, I am a little slow.

Hey Bubba!! How are you and Dana doing? For next year I'll get some different tires. This year I only got to run it once before the breakdown, I just got it back together for the last race of the season. Next year I'll get an earlier start and see what the ol' sand slug'll do on pavement. We'll be back down to LS for snake hunt, alredy got the campsite reserved.

Just got back from running the drags again. Totally different setup and motor. the results were not quite what I had thought they would be. As for motor, no race head or big valves, web 110 cams instead of 109's. Alky still. 17-40 gearing this time, 16-40 last, plus 3 arm now, same tires. same pilot. 60 foot times still around 2 seconds no improvement with the arm. ET went up to a best of 8.44 most were at 8.5-8.6. trap speeds went to over 80 so I picked up 2 mph and lost 2 tenths of et. I think I've always needed more gear and now I need the motor to go with it. there were 2 YFZ's there, all they had were pipes and pistons they were in the low 9's at 71-72 MPH.

Thats cool. I am gonna be taking mine to the drag strip pretty soon to see how it does. I am only doin this for comparisons for when I put the cbr600f2 in it. This will be my cheap horse power build, not that it will be alot, but alot more than the 650 stocker lol, plus it will sound cool. RUSS
