Default New RWR intake

At my last dyno session I picked up 4 hp by going to a direct mount over the snorkle plus it moved the peak up 600 rpm's and carried it out a lot further. Seems like not everyones motors are the same after all.

Awesome info indeed! Thanks a lot Jeff, looking forward to seeing the same tests in a stock bore and valved machine, with slip-on or endcap.

Jeff I know you have the a/f ratio monitor with your dyno so you are certain of jetting in all the tests, but just curious - what, if any, jetting changes were necesary between the stock rubber airtube and the direct mount filter?

Mine jetted leaner by 1 jet with direct mount

The test temp was about 50+ degs.
The altitude here is in 600ft range.
The test was done with flat track tires.
The afr I shot for was 12.0-13.0

This was a TM48
The RW's tube wanted a 177.5
The stock 03 tube wanted 170
The direct mount want 157.5
This was to get the above afr readings.

I don't know for sure what the tubes are doing on top. I know the stock03 tube held a good afr line even when hp fell off. This mean it was staying constant. If it would have went rich then it would be running out of air. I think this is what happened to the RW air tube. It was slow ,fast ,slow on how it took the air. Thats why it showed a rich, lean ,rich afr. I also think the big valved head is not good for the RW tube because for the to much air draw.

I think the stock head will like the tubes more than the direct mount, but we will see.
