Bombardier Cuts Jobs and Heads to Mexico
If we are lucky, I hope we are, we will get a visit from BRP here in the next few days, maybe Monday at the soonest. They need to hear from us and how loyal we have been. We have concerns about the move and are upset. I have emailed Pierre Pichette and Stéphanie Vaillancourt. Lets see what comes of that. I have invited them in here. I have sent a direct link to them. I have explained that we have supported them and have promoted sales from this forum to potential buyers.
Lets give them a few days to chime in here.

When I was first reading this I thought this guy lived in Brownsville or near Sandy Eggo or something but Illinois?
Funny, I live in CA where the hispanic I'm sure is 200% higher(or more) then in Illinois and I don't hear of these kinds of problems being common.
He's telling us this company in Illinois busses hispanics(or illegals) from Mexico??
I don't see any Mexican flags at the schools here.
The mexican flag and american flag fly at public schools here. Alot of white kids have to be picked up from school or get beaten up by gangs of mexican kids. We've had little legue fields torn down so soccer fields could be built. It's a discrace what has happened here. Cargil flat out RAPED this town for profit. F*CK corperate america. F*CK illegals. someone stated on here that its all or nothing. well, thats the problem now, aint it. go back to kodak, and numerous other company,s that sold out to other country,s to make\save a buck. look at the no. 2 money maker in the usa, automotive. it is leaving. please dont bring up toyota making cars here,lol. they throw a bone this way, and fools buy them up, while in turn they recieve 100% more business in there country. walmart is nop place i shop in. i do however, shop in the mom and pop stores when i can, liking the hand made things over rugs at walmart. heck, the big 3 have numerous plants in canada, to save money on the exchange now.
bomb is just one more example in a long line of examples of why finding american or canadian made is almost imposible. as consumers, we alow the companys that our fellow countryman work for to fold, and speak of saving a buck in there wake. that wont happen, becouse i promice you, bomb, like the others, will not pass the savings along. in turn, they will allow fellow countrymen to go under, speaking of how the mother company must servive. what a crock!

I admire everyone who cares enough to speak, one way or another, and I commend everyone for stating their opinions without the thread getting out of hand in all out war.
this isn't something that's just happening, its been happening, or rather happened, its how it is. if you say you won't buy bomb for going to mexico, then what will you buy? another foreign product, that's what. can somebody explain their views on why so many feel a mexican product is more taboo than a product from another foreign country? there is no total american made, or candian made, and there hasn't been for a long long time.
it is all or nothing, and I have no intension of living the Amish way, so I have to go to walmart. its a shame that small local businesses are so few in numbers now due to these big retail outlets, but fact is there is no place within a 50 mile radius of me that I can buy fruit of the loom underwear besides walmart. if I need motor oil I go to autozone, if I need light bulbs I can go to the hardware store, but if I need condoms and fishing line I have to go to walmart, there is no choice.

Sorry to hear that brp is moving to MEXICO! but how does that affect us????we do not have to buy a ds,you can buy a polaris right!or you can buy a japanese machine right!So why are you bich@#$! about the Mexicans!There is nothig you can do about this,or that means that you wont buy a chevy,ford or chrysler!!!!!It probably wont make any difference on the product if you are using the same stuff!!!

this is sh..t there 2 people in the family that is involve in this job lost it's not now but 2007 will comme fast bomb decive me bomb is 100% québec machine and they want to make them in mexico im not sure but guys that buy polaris woud buy it if they were make in china so wen the ds will be to old i rather buy a honda than a bomb made in mexico not that i dont like mexican but a bomb belong to be build in valcourt not else were in mexico

im going to have to agree with you all i think that bombardier is making a big mistake moving to mexico 1-they have a reputation from being built in canada everyone says o their made in canada to be used in the wilderness and look at their name its a french name and their going to move to mexico!! 2- its not that i have anything against mexico but the fact is my father and i own a dealership and we feel that we would rather have something coming from canada than mexico weather or not its cheaper to make them there or anything else but thats my opinion

When is the last time Mexico Bombed US??? Japan has. North Korea wants to blow us up so bad that can't stand it. France, Germany they don't care for us either, aswell as half of Europe and Africa. Seems to me Mexico is a pretty good Country to deal with? Even if it is "3rd world".
Its alway bad when thier is a big layoff, Like Marky said the telecommunicatons industry is THE WORST when it comes to "cutting back". But atleast we have the great opertunities to go get another well paying job, or perhaps start our on business, again like Marky.

With all due respect, many of the posts have nothing to do with the orginal subject. First of all, the subject was about Bombardier Canada moving assembly operations to Mexico. What does that have to do with Illegel mexican workers coming to the USA? Some of you guys have a personal problem with mexicans take that somewhere else. I dont agree with the way the government is currently handleing illegal aliens (all illegal aliens), and I think we need to beef up our borders and make the 'worker' process legal - especially for those that are already work here.
BUT - Blaming illegal aliens in the USA for Canada moving to Mexico is wack! And, I dont have a personal problem with hispanic people. Some of my most trusted friends are hispanic. You guys that post comments that border on the edge of racsist can take those comments to a KKK meeting.

..Well I might get flamed for this but..…along with other concerns I have.. the massive illegal and legal immigrants into USA…is changing the values of what this country stands for..(which is a topic all by itself )…I try to buy usa or canadian whenever possible..( God bless canada) I’ve never seen a person from Somalia on a snowmobile, or ATV supporting our lifestyles…their lifestyles are different…never had killings in our little town before they came here..never heard of camel meat sold at a grocery store before..maybe I'm missing somthing there..lol..a friend of mine is a police man..and he is very frustrated with problems from the illegals.. he said a local “ church group” is trying to bring over 5,000 new somalias in the next new year or so…I agree with helping people..but if they come to usa…become AMERICAN..and learn English da** it…!! have to say the MFG's have to make money or sink...but when everyone will be making minimum wage because all the factory and or good paying jobs are gone...who is left to buy and keep atv/snowmoble dealers/mfg's in business..Enjoy our county now..because its changing into a 3rd world county little by little…!!..so flame away !!
