Default HMF pipe and rear wheel Dyno results for the Outy 800

Like I say the dyno sencing just one cylinder gives a reading that can't be right. Torque is supose to be more than HP, at least on everything I have seen numbers on. If I go by just whatthe dyno showed then it would have 50hp, with only 40lbs of tq. I have seen more than a fiew moters that the Tque is doule or almost, So the nubers the dyno shop gave me seem to be more acutate then cutting them in half. It has allot of power and to think that it had 50 hp but only 40#s of TQ I know can't be right. .

I heard the outty800 got 72 HP in the CRANK and not 62 as this thread said.
72HP in the crank, is it true?

As far as I know it has always been 62 at the crank. I never herd that bout the 72HP. I think that might be the Hp of the 1000 cc sled that they got the motor from to make the 800.

Thanks cc1999, That is nice of you to share the dyno numbers for all of us to see. I am trying to decide what to do on the outty. Is the pipe loud? I want power without noise. Maybe just the controler with air box mod or nitrous.

Im not so sure how come the V2 800cc got only 45 at the wheels? and 62 at the crank?
i think its more like 72 +-, 800 cc with 2 cilinders are not a joke...

45 sounds very weak :/

any1 got a way to prove it got only 62 in the crank?

It is very normal to loose 25-30% by the time it goes throught the CVT auto shaft drive setup. It happens on all brands running that type of drivetrain. That happens to be a 28% drop from 62 down to 45 hp at the wheels. I have no idea were you got the 72 hp number but bomb's published nubers are 62 at the crank.

OK i think you might be right, 72 sounds very high!

Do you have any prove like a DYNO test graph of any Bomb800 ever tested?
like the 1 you said in your first post:
45 at wheels and 59 after installing the HMF pipe.

It was 45 hp and now 49 not 59. I need to get a scanner sometime then I could post the graph they gave me, I think next new printer I get will be one of thoses combo / scanner / fax / copy machine kind. But right now I do not have a way to post them.

Well you do not need paddles to ride in the sand with a 4x4 but if you like drag racing in the sand they make quite a bit of difference. I race in 4 wheel drive with paddles on the rear. The outy had paddles on it last time we were at the dunes it was running allot closer to the Twin peaks. It should run real close to the twin peaks both on motor only now it has a pipe kit and is dynoing about the same HP.
As far as best overall machine, The outy IMO is the best there is on the market right now. It is not quite as sporty as the Twin Peaks but it is close. It rides like a Cadilac, and it has loads of power even in stock form, it will outrun any other stock machine on the market including most sporties.
