Default help! no elec. power

might have messed up the electrical on my 05 ds650. tried to wire in a cigarette lighter plug-in to power my gps. i checked the red wire i tapped into with the test light. it was hot with the key turned on and not with the key turned off. i had a good ground but when i pluged into it and turned the key on it sparked and i lost all power to the atv. is there any fuses that i might have blew or did i burn something up thanks in advance for any help, info, or ideas!
