Whistler, B-C September 23, 2005 - Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) has assembled an all-star ATV racing team to compete on the industry's hottest quad, the 2006 Bombardier*ATV OutlanderTM 800H.O. EFI V-Twin. It's Baja 1000 Time Again!!
I know BRP is proud of the OUTTY 800 and it is a hella UTE quad for sure. but your asking to much of it to compete with Honda's TOP racer, knowing that Honda also wants to make a big statment about thier NEW&Improoved 450r. BRP should have put their best racer against Honda's best racer, and if the OUTTY 800 is thier best racer???? than they better redesign the DSBAJA
But trying to be "cocky" and pit a UTE agianst true racers, HONDA has now taken the TOP 4 places in the race. talk about an a$$-kicking. way to go BRP.
Props to Honda for making great changes to an already great machine!!
BIgger.

You make some good points bigger. I will say that during testing, they were able to carry more speed in most areas, not just in the slower more technical terrain, but in wide open areas on the Outy than on the 450r's DS's and YFZ's. Believe me, Penland's 800 was rather stock because of the class he ran in. The others were the equivalant of a scaled down trophy truck. Had they not had the tire problems, they would have been in contention.
Three things it takes to win Baja...
1) A great machine.
2) Great Riders
3) Lots of luck
They had 2 of the three. That's the legacy of Baja!!
