Default Ds Overheat under extreme conditions....Normal??

Hi everybody I was ridding this sunday on some hard trails and the overheat light came on twice ; the first time I was towing a raptor 660 up a hill hitting it hard because there was a lot of mud and my tires barely griped , the second time i was trying to go up a mountain but i was sliping a lot because it was raining and mudy both times i turned it of let it sit for 5 min the light went off and i kept on ridding normal...pretty hard : ) the light did not come on on for the rest of the day

So is it normal for the light to come on under extreme conditions... ??? do i have to check something the coolant looks fine a little low but not below the min line ; will fill it up today

and also I live in Puerto Rico the weather here is always above 80 deg \
Should i get an inline cooler??

Thanks in advance.....

lmao- Hello, From the looks of them pics it looks like the trails that your on are the only ones. The shrubbage there looks very dense in the back ground. But it looks like you can just drive through the river and clean your bike off at any time. Looks pretty cool there. What do the chicks look like there? J/k

Like Sandbomber said, clean your radiator at lease once a year.
Replace antifreeze and use a 30% ratio. Since you live where it is always warm, you need this ratio to just lubricate and rustproof.

Uh, that light isn't just for overheating. How is your oil level and pressure? You could probably smell antifreeze if it was hot enough for that light to come on due to overheating.

I look at that light as the light of death! I had it come on on my old 2000 DS a couple of times. I shut her down immediately and figured out what was wrong.

yes clean the radiator, but also confirm the fan is working - high rpm in low on slow trails is where the fan runs the most, and these conditions will casue the motor to overheat in the fan is not working. I have had the fan die, and also the switch that tells the fan to come on die, and either one of these two problems can and will cause overheat on slow windy trails, or while towing people, regardless of any keep-cool tiems you may install.
