Default help needed

I am changing front sprocket. I can not get my chain to losen. I losened the four bolts on the rear axle housing, put srewdriver in the hole in the sproket, tried to move quad backwards but will not losen chain. I keep breaking or bending the srewdrivers. I tried everything that would fit into that hole but no luck. Any tricks or suggestions woul be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the carrier is froze up. Try alot of penetrating oil and working it. You could also try riding it a bit with the bolts loose, but watch what your doin.

Just a quick thought, put the screw driver in and see if it will move forward. sometimes you have to rock them back and forth

2 Big mine actually loosened when i moved it forward instead of backwards. I read when i did a search that you had to move it backwards to loosen. Oh well its done now, but thanks for the reply.

sometimes when it gets stuck like thatand wont move a certain direction you can usualy rock it backwards and forwards and it will brake it loose. One time mine would not move backwards so i rocked it forward and it freed it up.

Once you get it moving pull the carrier and lube the outside of the carrier with some anti-seize. problem solved.
