IMO it has nothing to do with the sleeve!!! I have 20mill twister motors with sleeves that rock but the jug is billet and designed to accept a sleeve and fit without wiggle LOL

About 50% of the sleeve jugs make good motors! spin the wheel and hope ya get a good one. I dont think better comes into play if you dont have a good foundation to install it IMO Just hate to see you waste money like I did in the past

If you really want a bigger bore and have the cash, by the kit that comes with a jug. If not, I would set aside whatever the real cost of the sleeve, machine work, and piston would be then sell the extra jug to someone who needs a stock bore jug, add that money to the mix and you should have the balance saved in no time to get the HPR 730 kit that will work for sure.

so we are implying a rotax motor is a weak foudation? the motor is rock solid. 120HP all stock internals except piston & clutch & head gasket.

i don't see a problem with a sleeve if it's installed right. A sleeve is way cheaper than a new cylinder for the DS - this isn't the case with other motors though, so i could buy the argument to go for the new cylinder IF it were another motor or cost was not a factor for the owner.

just because one builder had problems with their big bore sleeve kits doesn't mean it can't be done right at a lower cost than a new cylinder. those big bore sleeve kits were far from optimized and not setup well. it can be done right. mrhp will tell you it's not the sleeve that was the problem it was the whole package.
