The statistics of the sleeves fall on the sleeve installer/assembler... If a machinest like Eric sunk sleeves in (im sur ehe could if he wanted to) There would ALOT less issues... If the right guy does the job the right way, yes it could save some money. There were TOO many bad sleeve installs to blame the sleeve itself. Mine lasted 2 years and is still good. Just an example that it could take a MAJOR beating if installed right. Also the mech needs to make sure the sleeve is not out of round. Other than that the success rate could be 10 out of 10.

Thanks Annihilator. I think you are absolutely correct up to a certain horsepower threshold, I think even Eric said if they were done properly they should be good up to about 65 hp. I definitely can buy that.
DSexpress,
No disrespect intended but anytime anyone says "DSNUT" and "Expertise" in the same sentence, I get nervous. I do a lot of thinking outloud, it helps me to learn easier.
Thanks for the info guys.
Ron

My 720 / 730 motor ran 92hp when the selinoids were bothin doing there job on an 18 shot (putting out 25hp). I then after bumped the nos shot up and ran it hard hot lapping it all day. Like I said the cyl is still in good shape and it was putting out over 100hp easily.
